Getting around Liguria

The region of Liguria offers convenient access by public transportation to cities, villages and tourist destinations.
Within the city of Genoa, the subway links the main railway station, Piazza Principe, to points of interest in the city centre, such as the Aquarium and Piazza De Ferrari. Delightfully uncommon conveyances that are very popular are the two funicular railways (Zecca Righi and Sant’Anna) operated by AMT Genova that make it easy to access the highest points of the terraced city.
The train can also be used for visiting various parts of the region; a regional rail network links sections of the coast with inland areas.
Bus travel is very practical, as all Ligurian cities are easily accessible by public roads. The region is divided into seven areas served by different bus companies:
Riviera trasporti for the province of Imperia.
SAR Autolinee Riviera in the western part of the province of Savona (this includes service to the areas of Finale and Albenga).
ACTS in the province of Savona.
Amt for the City of Genoa
Atp Autolinee provinciali (for the suburban and rural areas in the province of Genoa).
